"Oh, that one's good!" All you hear about if you have a psp are the good parts of portals. I'm here today to tell you my experiences with portals, which ones to get, how to install them, and how to use them.
The Portals

First of all, it doesn't have just great icons and looks! It has quality. Most of the people at the moment making portals are
just newbies that think theirs are the best. PSP Optmize is not one of those portals. It has a clock, games, good applications such as Text Editor, 8 Ball, and a calculator. It has net applications, with tools such as unzipping files, file sharing, email, and PSPube. It has stunning graphics and games that keep you in your seat.

I have another favorite, but for other reasons. It is called X5 ver. 2.00. This one is a portal of a macintosh computer called, "The X5" (duuuuhhh!). I don't have any pictures for this one, but I do have some good criticism. The reason is that the X5 has iTunes instead of that bad PSP-fitted media player, PSPTunes. It has a calender, email, a quicktime player, safari (the standard mac browser), iPhoto, an address book, and more. It has the functionality of a mac, and is great for your media.

Oh yes, I forgot about one: the PSPWXP. It is an amazing Windows Vista portal with incredible graphics, and a stunning life-like start menu and applications. You almost can't believe it with your eyes. I first downloaded it, and I was excited, actually excited about the portal. It even starts like a pc! The only bad part is, it takes up a lot of space in your memory stick.

The iPSP is a piece of junk. It only looks nice. The only useful application was Vipr Online, but now, they changed the url, so it won't work. I guess the games are all right, but they could have done better because they were choppy. The one good thing is that it actually looks like an iPhone start page. If that weren't true, it would be completely useless and a waste of your and the creator's time.

Don't get the Wii portal, either. Nothing is good on that. In the iPSP portal, at least the pictures looked real. The Wii menu in the portal is nothing like the real thing, and their are only 5 channels, one of which, doesn't really work.

What is a portal?
A portal is a recreation of a program, application, or computer that is fitted either for the PSP, or to the PSP, also. They usually can play some kind of media, and most of the time, games. Some are useful, with internet applications while others are just for fun.

Where to get them
Your best bet is to find the forums in playstation.com, then go to psp. You will see several different subcategories, but find PSP Media. Anything posted that has portal in the name, but not something like, "portal?"(without the quotes), will most likely have posted portals.
